Fabricated a new subfloor shield/drain valve box roof this evening.

---------------------------------------------------

There is an aluminum sheet the makes up the roof of the drain valve area. This sheet protects the subfloor from the environment. While protecting the subfloor from external moisture, it can trap moisture under the subfloor when water internally leaks in this area. The water heater is located above, and a lot of plumbing is in this area.

The following four pics are of the original installation. Note the missing subfloor. These pics are post rotten subfloor cleanup. Reference log entry date October 22, 2010.

The original shield was 0.032" anodized Al. I fabricated a new shield from 0.063" 6061-T6 Al, and prepped and painted with leftover POR15.
