Sealing the subfloor...continued. Tested corrugated fasteners.

Continued sealing the subfloor sections this evening.

Silver Streak used corrugated fasteners, along with plywood splices, to join the subfloor sections. All corrugated fasteners were driven into the section joints on the bottom side, leaving the top surface joint smooth.

I thought I would see how difficult it is to install the corrugated fasteners using a hammer. They are easy enough to install on a flat level surface, but would be almost impossible to install while on frame. The only practical way to install is with a power nailer, or assemble all subfloor sections together off frame and install as one unit.

I am not sure if I will try to use corrugated fasteners to join the subfloor sections. Plywood splices installed with construction adhesive and screws should suffice. The corrugated fasteners may be overkill. Still, one can't help wonder as to why Silver Streak went thru the effort to ensure such a strong and tight joint.
