The cold has returned today.  After a high temperature of 76 yesterday, a return to the low 30's made any kind of outside work very unappealing.  Rather than work with cold, hand-numbing tools, I decided to forgo removing the last belly skin section (center over axles) and spend time taking and documenting measurements of the subfloor and associated frame attach locations.

---------------------------------------------------

I started by taking measurements of subfloor overhang at each outrigger location.

The bottom of the subfloor at the corners are cut back to permit the belly skin to tightly wrap around and attach to the "C" channel.  Measurements were taken of this offset.

Continuing to take measurements... This location is the front of the trailer.  It is the forward most portion of the main frame support box.

Measurements are taken of the subfloor/carpet/"C" channel buildup.  The subfloor is 5/8" (0.625") thick and the compressed carpet is 1/4" (0.250") thick.  I will try to match this buildup (7/8"; 0.875") when the new floor and overlay are installed.  This will hopefully minimize shell/"C" channel fastener hole misalignments and reduce the need to create new attach holes.

Subfloor setback at the aft corners is greater than at the front of the frame.  The belly skin approach angle is more shallow at the aft corners than at the front corners.

Visible location of subfloor seam reinforcements are documented....

Overall subfloor/"C" channel dimensions are documented.  These measurements are consistent are all locations forward/aft and side to side.

"C" channel gaps are measured, as well as relative channel locations around the perimeter of the frame.

That's all for today.
